“Bastos” is a hand-built flocked ceramic vessel with 22k gold accents. Toward the beginning of my ceramics journey, Sasha told me that my work had “great flocking and luster potential,” which is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me, but also created a monster. The gold “teeth” of this vessel (and all other langka vessels) are inspired by the gold rivets embedded in the teeth of the Bolinao Skull.
